As of today, the passage through the tunnel is free. However, the most beautiful views can, of course, be seen when taking the longer road over the pass.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Useful to know:<\/strong><\/p>\n<cite>The segment of the SH8 road between Vlora and Dhermi starts and ends at sea level (0 meters above sea level). The highest point of this road is at an elevation of 1100 meters above sea level. It is a true mountain road with winding turns and breathtaking views, just like in the movies. It is the only road along the southern coast of the country to Saranda and Ksamil. Yes, the scenery is beautiful, but the actual pass at an elevation of 1100 meters looks like this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A 1 km stretch of the road.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Surrounded by coniferous forest.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The temperature is about 10 degrees lower than on the coast due to the altitude.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There is a parking lot.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3-4 restaurants where you can stop for lunch or have a coffee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Several hotels.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And about 20-30 km of hiking trails in Karaburun Park.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Useful to know:<\/strong><\/p>\n<cite>There are no particularly stunning views at the actual Llogara Pass. Of course, the hotel has cozy rooms and cottages, as well as a restaurant that serves delicious local dishes. Guests can enjoy many amenities, including a sauna, a swimming pool, and a gym.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the main features of the hotel is the deer that roam freely around the grounds. You can approach them, pet them, and even feed them. Deer treats are sold on-site for just 50 lek. You can also bring your own, such as apples or carrots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You don&#8217;t have to be a hotel guest to see the deer. Once you have crossed the pass and started descending, you&#8217;ll be treated to magnificent views of the sea. Besides the beautiful SH8 road, you should also make stops at:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Llogara Viewpoint, where two seas meet &#8211; the Ionian and Adriatic.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On a clear sunny day, you can even see the boundary between the seas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coordinates: 40.188250, 19.599307<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Elevation: 950 meters above sea level.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There is a parking lot, plenty of benches for resting, and in-season, a stall with drinks and snacks. The road surface is good, and traffic intensity is relatively low.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Plan a minimum of 2 hours for the entire stretch from Vlora to Dhermi, including stops. It might even take up to 2.5 hours.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be prepared for many motorcyclists on this road, and they won&#8217;t be traveling at 30 km\/h.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I haven&#8217;t seen as many bikers in Albania as on this road.
