Most of these features are familiar to Balkan residents and neighboring countries, but it&#8217;s essential for us to know about them, as some aspects may be critically important for some.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, let&#8217;s go through them one by one:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\" id=\"\u0446\u0435\u043d\u0442\u0440\u0430\u043b\u044c\u043d\u043e\u0435-\u043e\u0442\u043e\u043f\u043b\u0435\u043d\u0438\u0435-\u0438-\u043e\u0431\u043e\u0433\u0440\u0435\u0432-\u043f\u043e\u043c\u0435\u0449\u0435\u043d\u0438\u044f\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Central_Heating_and_Room_Heating\"><\/span>Central Heating and Room Heating<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In Albania, there is no such thing as central heating. But to sum it up briefly, winters in coastal regions and resorts range from +5 to +15 degrees Celsius, while mountainous areas experience snowfall.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Therefore, apartments, guesthouses, and other accommodations are always cool and brisk. Locals dress warmly inside their homes and sleep under three blankets.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Of course, this aspect is not relevant during the summer and hot weather. So, pay attention to this aspect when booking if it&#8217;s crucial for you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>There are cities situated at an altitude of 500-700 meters above sea level where the temperature is always about 5 degrees lower than on the coast. Most water heaters have small capacities, so you&#8217;ll have to be quick, and that&#8217;s it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\" id=\"\u043f\u043b\u0438\u0442\u043a\u0430-\u043d\u0430-\u043f\u043e\u043b\u0443\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tiled_Floors\"><\/span>Tiled Floors<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tiled floors are prevalent in every room, typical of the entire Balkan region.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In 95% of cases, the entire apartment or room will have only tiles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advantages include its practicality, ease of cleaning, and durability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>But the biggest drawback is that the floor is always cold. Hence, we return to the advice of bringing warm socks with you on your trip. Almost no accommodation in Albania will have a microwave.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The reason is the same: expensive electricity. Besides, you can heat food on a stove using a frying pan.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As for stoves, there are both gas and electric ones available, and it varies from place to place. They are often cheaper than hotels and offer many more advantages.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The main two advantages of apartments and apart-hotels are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Kitchen Facilities: Unlike regular hotels, apartments always have a kitchen. You might not end up cooking yourself, but it&#8217;s very convenient. Apartments come with a refrigerator, all necessary utensils, forks, knives, glasses, and a kettle. For example, I check-in at 10 pm, and I know I&#8217;ll be leaving at 7 am the next morning. Or on the last day when I&#8217;m flying back home and need a place to stay near the airport.
