Here, there are numerous tax preferences and benefits. As a result, prices for basic consumer goods are among the lowest in all of Europe. It&#8217;s cheaper here than in mainland Spain.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>This paradox surprises many who are unaware of the special economic zone. Since the islands, if you look at the map, are located more than 1000 km away from Europe, logistics to here are not cheap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Here&#8217;s one indicative example: gasoline in all of mainland Europe currently costs between 1.7 and 2.3 euros per liter. In islands like Greece or Croatia, it&#8217;s more expensive because it needs to be transported there, which is costly logistics-wise. Despite these islands being closer.
