Some platforms suggest places on nearby islands and list them as \u201c1 km from Rasdhoo.\u201d On the Maldives, 1 km is an entirely different island.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\nFor example, 1 km from Rasdhoo<\/strong> is the private island resort Kuramathi<\/strong>, where rooms start at $500\/night (excluding meals). But you can<\/em> visit Kuramathi on a day trip from Rasdhoo<\/strong> for around $150 per person<\/strong>, including food and drinks. A speedboat takes you there in the morning and brings you back in the evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\nUpdate:<\/strong> Day trips now go to Ellaidhoo Maldives by Cinnamon<\/strong>, not Kuramathi. But the creation of a designated bikini beach changed everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nImportant to know:<\/strong>Rasdhoo has a team from the local municipality maintaining the beach daily. The beach itself is small, around 200 meters long, but there\u2019s enough room for everyone. The sand is fine and white, and the atmosphere is peaceful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There\u2019s a great volleyball court with a net and ball, plenty of shaded spots, and around 20 free sunbeds \u2013 first come, first served! There\u2019s even a (basic) toilet facility. Despite its compact size, the beach has seen major improvements over the past year.<\/p>\n\n\n\nBikini Beach on Rasdhoo \u2013 also known as Tourist Beach<\/strong> \u2013 is where you can also rent kayaks right on the spot.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/span>The Only Downside<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\nThe main drawback of the beach is the shallow water near the shore, filled with dead coral. (No sea urchins though!) During low tide \u2013 which isn’t extreme in the Maldives \u2013 it gets even shallower, making swimming less enjoyable for adults. But for kids, it\u2019s perfect.
