It remains <strong>relatively uncrowded<\/strong>, mainly because <strong>there are no large cities nearby, and public transportation does not reach this area<\/strong>. Located in the <strong>Budva Riviera<\/strong>, Montenegro\u2019s <strong>most famous beach resort area<\/strong>, Jaz sits just <strong>5 km outside of Budva<\/strong>. While it gets <strong>crowded in peak season<\/strong>, it is still <strong>less busy than Budva\u2019s main city beach<\/strong>. However, the hotel was never completed, and today it looms over the beach, becoming its signature landmark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Coordinates:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/qWZU8rVSZcY1wEaCA\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/qWZU8rVSZcY1wEaCA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">42.21036, 18.92589<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Beach length:<\/strong> 500\u2013800 meters, width only 50 meters\u2014quite a narrow beach.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Surface:<\/strong> Some areas have fine pebbles, while others feature large boulders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Facilities:<\/strong> In peak season, sun loungers are available, and a few caf\u00e9s and restaurants operate, but there aren\u2019t many.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>For children?<\/strong> Some families do visit, but in my opinion, it\u2019s not the best beach for kids due to the large rocks and uneven entry into the water.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Unique feature:<\/strong> To reach the beach from Petrovac, you\u2019ll pass through three small pedestrian tunnels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\" id=\"11\">\n<p>Author&#8217;s tip:<\/p>\n<cite>On a sunny day, the water is a breathtaking shade of azure, reminiscent of the Maldives. Since the beach is far from major cities, it tends to be less crowded than the main beach in Petrovac. Small and cozy, it is located in a bay, well protected from wind and waves. It is also close to the charming Adriatic resort town of <a href=\"https:\/\/travel-4-fun.com\/montenegro\/petrovac-top-5-places-hotels-beaches\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"3948\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Petrovac<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Coordinates:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/vv6nobSve6EdJr5X6\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/vv6nobSve6EdJr5X6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">42.20051, 18.95087<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Beach size:<\/strong> About 200 meters long.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Beach type:<\/strong> Sandy, with an excellent water entry. The beach is sheltered from the wind on all sides. There are large rocks along the edges, both onshore and in the water, but most people relax in the center.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Facilities:<\/strong> Sun loungers, a restaurant, and a cafe are available. In peak season, pedal boats and other water activities for children can be rented.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Getting there:<\/strong> A 15-minute walk from the center of Petrovac along a scenic route.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\" id=\"12\">\n<p>Author&#8217;s tip:<\/p>\n<cite>A great spot for a relaxing holiday. Definitely not suitable for children.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Getting there:<\/strong> The beach is near the resort town of <a href=\"https:\/\/travel-4-fun.com\/montenegro\/sutomore-in-montenegro-beaches\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"4185\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Sutomore<\/strong><\/a>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/travel-4-fun.com\/montenegro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/12\/beaches-10.jpg\" alt=\"unique beach with a tunnel in montenegro\" class=\"wp-image-5304\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The only way to reach it is through a tunnel, visible in the first photo. In the second photo, the small white dot in the center is the light at the end of the tunnel\u2014that is your destination. The tunnel may look low, but you can walk through it upright.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\" id=\"13\">\n<p>Author&#8217;s tip:<\/p>\n<cite>What makes this beach unique is that there is no road leading to it\u2014only a narrow, long tunnel carved into the rock. This tunnel was not even built for people but for seawater, which was once directed into the town. Now, the tunnel is dry and walkable, but a flashlight is necessary. Unlike Montenegro\u2019s other wide, well-lit pedestrian tunnels, this one is completely wild. A phone flashlight will be enough.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">10. Velika Pla\u017ea \u2013 13 km of Endless Beach<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The final highlight of this ranking is Velika Pla\u017ea, which literally translates to &#8220;Big Beach.&#8221; It stretches for an astonishing 13 kilometers, forming an uninterrupted line of sand. The entire length of the beach is sandy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Coordinates<\/strong> (for the most developed section): <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/HmRawQPSX5BB7Fda7\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/HmRawQPSX5BB7Fda7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">41.894943888356195, 19.290097136277367<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Beach size:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Length: 13 km<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Width: 200\u2013300 meters, making it one of the widest beaches in Montenegro.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Beach type:<\/strong> Fine-grained, black volcanic-like sand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The first 1\u20132 kilometers (closer to Ulcinj) have full infrastructure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Many wild, deserted sections can be found even in peak season.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Special features:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The number one spot in Montenegro for kitesurfing and windsurfing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not protected by mountains, so winds and waves are common.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong> The beach is in southern Montenegro, near the town of <a href=\"https:\/\/travel-4-fun.com\/montenegro\/ulcinj-and-ada-bojana-island-montenegr\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"5120\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ulcinj<\/a>. Velika Pla\u017ea stands out from the rest. If you did not know better, you might not even guess you were in Montenegro.<br>This is a perfect place for families with children\u2014there is plenty of space for everyone.<br>The downside is that some areas are not well-maintained. In certain spots, the sand contains cigarette butts, plastic cups, and beer cans.
